Uhhh... are you sure you got those titles down correctly? Wasn't the expansion pack called Lord of Destruction and the original just Diablo II?

Hellfire was an unoficial expansion pack to diablo, it added some new places and 1 new race...

Diablo II. While D1 is great fun, D2 adds lots of feutures, better graphics, enemies.. Yada yada... My brother have the expanssion, but I haven't really tried it, so I couldn't say which is better (it probably is, though).
The original one is the best. But Hellfire's new levels were very fine ones. The Monk character was funny because of the hand-to-hand style combat and the strange bonus with the leather armor... But my favourite one was the Barbarian in Hellfire, cause I prefer warrior classes instead of magic. The Bard was a surprise too, but unfortunately these classes came without new graphics - were unsupported and only a text file revealed them - so only the gameplay changed a little.
Since I only played Diablo II, I voted for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. By the way, what is Throne of Baal?

Kind of wondered the same thing.
Totally Diablo II: LoD. Still playing it on-and-off and I brought it when it came out.
Throne of Baal is a another expansion pack for diablo II...
