> I have severally uninstalled and updated the driver, but it was useless.
+ my friend computer has also encountered this problem (CD-Rom not work) after his PC was infected by W32.Rontokbro.B@mm (So i assume that it is because of the Virus)
Could all members help me solve this problems urgently?
YOur helps are very much appreciated...
Thanks forward,

just update your antivirus program and run a full system scan. hopefully, the virus will be detected.
just checkout the link for more info

wow, yeah try updating and try different free antiviruses like avast.
get one of the freeware tools on bootable CD. Update the virus definitions on a clean PC
PM me where you think you got the virus Dont post it on the forum for obvious reasons. Go to http://free.grisoft.com/ and scan using AVG Free Anti-Virus. Also go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com for an Online Scanner.
AVG is not a good choice. Kaspery is frequently at the TOP of the objectively rated heap.
Install Linux.
Problem solved.
entr the bios and set YOUR CD-ROM DEVICE as FIRST bootable device.
virus can't afect bios.
try - getting an antivirus AND firewall solution onto the pc, try and use more powerful solutiosn mcafee, nrotn, pc illin if possible if even juts the 45 day demo. avoid the free avg and the like, they won't b powerrful enough to intercept the virus
norton antivirus deals with this one, hopefully you have it.
# Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).
# Update the virus definitions.
# Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected.
# Use the Security Response "Tool to reset shell\open\command registry subkeys."
# Delete any values added to the registry.
# Delete the scheduled task.
They are nortons, removal instructions.
Goto the site below to see all the things it adds to remove after the virus scan has removed it.

EDIT: Forgot the site lol
if worse comes to worse and you have to redo the thing have you tried pushing f12 when you turn your computer on
and booting from the windows disk?
if this will work and all else fails you might have to reinstall windows
but DO NOT do this yet most of these ideas are really good

Before you do that pull the network connection and do it and it will fixed your problem. If you keep it on the network sometime it can come back I see virus do that before. It is a pain to fixed it.
Also manually check your registry, it might be builded in and will reload it everytime you delete and fixed.
If you've already got rid of the virus itself, and you still have the problem, it is likely that it ahs done something to your registry. Try a system restore to before the infection. If it works then, you just need to delete/change some registry settings. BE CAREFUL when altering the registry. If you mess it up, you're screwed.
But don't worry too much. I've been doing it for ages with no problems.
