I just went to check the number of invites with isnoop.net and this is what it said:

I have gotten the word from Gmail's Product Manager that my service is no longer tolerable. At midnight PDT June 7th, 2005, this service was disabled. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all who contributed to this service. Your generosity helped out a vast number of people and for that you should be proud.
The gmail spooler email account is now deactivated and any mail sent to it will bounce. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop me a line: email@isnoop.net
Did you know there was more to this site than just a Gmail invite spooler? Check out some of the other fancy tools and toys I've whipped up.

Too bad its so popular service has been cut short by Google.
Do you think its an indication of gmail moving out of beta, as it already allows u to sing up for google account holders (open sign up) to use it for gmail login.
oh, that's too bad, i remember the good old days. yeah, this may probaby be an indication. however, there are still lot's to work on, yeah sure, we can say gmail's pretty awesome but they need to add more features before going out in public. the feature that i have been waiting for so long is to use of HTML codes especially in sigs.
It's not like it's hard to get gmail invites nowadays. Gmail has some work to do, but you can't deny it's already one of the best freemail services out there, if not the best.
oooh cool, google made noise about it
.
well, couldn't be an indication about google launching gmail soon...
to me, its just like yagoohoogle
Gmail is worth a lot of things.
However, I think that with all the free invites going around, a service based on giving them away is more or less redundant don't you?
well, if they are trying to limit accounts, why are they giving out 50 invites that regenerates every 2 to 3 days (for me)

They aren't just giving 50 invites to just u & me.
One can use Google Accounts to signin to gmail and even random invites are being given out.
Forcing isnoop.net's gmail invite spooler to shutdown it is indicating that its time they are closing the invite thing and going open
i also have 50 invites remaining on my gmail account.. i dont know if its still working.. i havent tried inviting my friend's gmail.. if that is possible, that is a bug in the system.. well most of people who are signing up are just after the storage space. if your just an ordinary email user, you dont need a storage space such big as 2Gb.. whats the point of creating a lot of email adresses? it doesnt make sense! make up your mind!

Or it could just be an indiacation that google's really annoyed with their invite system being mocked like that.
They wanted invite system so that gmail was not just an email account, it was a privilage. with the spooling of millions of invites by this site in question, it doesn't make one feel so special about being @gmail.com anymore.
To put it in technically correct terms, beta testing of gmail shouldn't be taken so casually, right ?

limiting accounts through inviting is a good idea however it's kinda unfair for some people. all of us gmail users can benefit with all the gmail invites we have but what about those people who knew nothing about such emails like gmail or what if they don't know anyone who can give them an invite? well sure, maybe about 75% of internet users already have a gmail account but those people who have less knowledge about the internet cannot benefit from it. and to think that every email provider's aim is to provide services to many people, not just few people who just waste their storage for having multiple accounts that were mostly never used.

i can't seem to figure out the connection
meangurl, google and yahoo made noise at yagoohoogle...thats why it shut down
.
Bummer, I think I gave out dozens of invites through that thing.
His Comic snagger service is pretty cool too. I use it to get my daily Dilbert and Get Fuzzy fix.
BTW: I have invites to spare, email me if you want one. Put the word "Frihost" in the subject so I know where it's coming from.
This is my first post to the forum. Apologies if this is a breach of board etiquette.
