Dem defaces a Diebold Truck, brags about it.

What is more idiotic, defacing a Diebold truck, or bragging about it on the D.U.M.B.?

2359734, I just defaced a Diebold truck.

I couldn't help it; it was beyond my control. I pulled into a grocery store parking lot. It was 10:00 P.M. and my son ran in. Next to me was parked a white truck with "Diebold - We Won't Rest" written on the side. There was nothing I could do. I reached into the glove box and pulled out a fattie black Magic Marker. The truck now reads "Diebold - We Steal Elections."

the responses are just as silly....

Rosebud57 posted flyers here that I have been putting up around Chicago that call for impeachment. There is nothing like the thrill I get from that. It reminds me of my highschool days and the TP we used to spread around. May I suggest some quality time with the kids. It is never to soon to start them along the right path. Kudos.

I think that writing on a Diebold truck is fair comment and "free speech".
Like you say - it was not even pre-meditated. It was responding to their corporate slogan.
It is legitimate resistance to an illegitimate government that has stolen power from the people.
It's like painting "DUMP BUSH" on the side of a dumpster. Spread the word! Keep hope alive!
If I lived in France in 1943 then I wish I would have the guts to paint anti-Nazi slogans.
It's not really destroying their property. It's not like you slashed their tyres.
It's not driving over someone's property and destroying their yard sign.
Diebold also supplies ATMs to my bank (and I live in Belgium!)
On the other hand I don't agree with personally insulting Halliburton employees.
If someone drives a truck for Halliburton - does it mean that he or she supports Bush-Cheney?
It would be wrong to assume there is an automatic connection ...

Even if this citizen goes to jail, she has pointed to crimes a billion times greater than defacing a truck.

First of all, I realize this was technically wrong.
However, and this is a HUGE HOWEVER.
It was impulsive, and I am not an impulsive person.
It was impulsive because of 5 years of built-up rage and frustration over the fact that the Republicans have gotten away with election fraud not once, not twice, but three times (2000, 2002, and 2004).
I made a statement, albeit illegal, against a corrupt system that I, quite frankly, have little hope will change. John Q. Public MUST know what is going on. This truck is now a billboard, and the driver will not be held responsible for this (my father is an insurance agent and told me so).
I consider it a service rendered. My neck, not yours.
You're welcome.
Ps: The "it was beyond my control" was an homage to Dangerous Liasons.
|
Well, I hope she feels less "rage". Good luck with that.
How ef'n stupid. They forgot that they were the ones who wanted the new machines after Gore lost on the paper count, so it was their fault when the machines couldn't cheat enough to let Kerry win in 2004.
I laughed a little bit when I realized the acronym for Democratic Undergound Message Board was D.U.M.B.
this isnt shocking

wowee, for someone so tuned into the corrupt system...all she can muster up is a scrawl on a truck ?
whoop-tee-doo. this is why the revolution will never come in your country. because even the people who feel they are being f.u.c.k.e.d every day, can barely bring themselves to write on a wall.
These people are no more democratic than they are comlete dumbshits. There's a bad apple in every party. But you're right (not to sound presumptious), this is a very effective blow to all the treehugging, optimistic, liberal, progressively mindful demmies out there. You will never win your right to voice, because there will always be supreme competition of not just ideas, but of collective party systems in general, which are so effective for classifying personal beliefs. Plus, we all know how black and white the world really is, moderates don't really know they actually belong to one of the two evils, there's no way they couldn't be completely skewed to fit a label.
In all seriousness, they really are just labels we've come up. How can you define a man's character with a single word?
and we wonder why we "lable" them as misspellers
and we wonder why for every kid that takes down a halliburton truck, how many conservatives run military style pornography websites.
no link between them.
but tit for tat eh?
make a point please.

What a dumbass .... no, that is vanadalism and a crime ... would he like it if someone wanted to make a protest towards the manufacturer of his car by writing on it .... doubt it!!!
More classic liberal modus operandi ... let the ends justify the means, truth and laws be damned.
It's still funny to watch libs bitch about the Republicans "stealing" the last 2 elections ... they just don't get it that they're policies are increasingly alienating their traditional power base of middle America ... it's a good thing they are so clueless ...
Generally, when I write on cars still dispalying a "Kerry -04" bumper sticker, I use a key.

Hey, great.
So keying an opposing political viewpoint is funny and fun, but writing stuff down is unnacceptable and criminal.
Seriously, can you with a straight face post all of this shit and say that the conservative frat boys and dim-witted hicks out there don't go just as far to slander and vandalize liberal agendas?
I can't even begin to relate how much vandalism supporting Bush and against Kerry I saw when the election was running. A professor here in Milwaukee made it on the news because he systematically caught on video people vandalizing his Kerry 04 sign.
Seriously. The pendulum swings both ways guys. This post says nothing except that vandalism is rampant on both sides of political ideology.

I completely agree ... there are idiots on both ends of the political spectrum.
However, I've noticed that liberals tend to try and justify their actions as an ends to a means. Case in point ... Al Gore's scorched earth policy in 2000 to try and win the White House. Richard Nixon could've opted for that approach in 1960, but didn't.

But I have to agree, democrats want so much change we'll all be living under a socialist regime. Who's to say a communist regime isn't out of the question? Okay, so I'm kidding there, but still... Laugh a little.

Most libs rarely have a valid point, and do you know why that is. Liberal philosophy today is all based on humanism and relitavism ... they have no standard against which to make an argument ... so they resort to cheap parlor tricks and smoke and mirrors. Facts have no basis in a relativistic framework ... they are merely an abstract constuct to be cast aside if they don't fit with your worldview.
Oh sure, I could expain why I edited my post ... or try to explain it's toungue in cheek nature, however you illustrated another classic liberal ploy ... instead of ... Nice comeback! I applaud you. However, I didn't isolate words from your post and make up comments. Using selective words from my post, though immature, was amusing none the less. I applaud your sense of humour... and the amount of immaturity you must possess to have done that ((insert S3nd K3ys' applud smiley here))
However, my post was not absurd. I did make a point about ocalhoun defacing cars with the "Kerry-04" bumper stickers, and while I noticed that you had fun with the latter part of my post, (and so did your flunkies), none of you had anything to say about the real point in my thread.

Well the commonly accepted Rule of Thumb is "If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, then it's a duck".
I think "If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, and identifies itself as a duck, well then that pretty well decides that".

Truce accepted.
Anyway, my point was that you cannot take a couple of extremely stupid liberals who like to deface Diebold trucks or flip off Haliburton trucks and say that all liberals do that, or more importantly, only liberals do that, since we have a Republican poster who has admitted to using his key to "redecorate" cars with the "Kerry 04" bumper stickers. I could have searched through some Republican Hate-liberal sites' forums for some posts, but I thought it was amusing that we have an example right here on Frihost.
And just to clarify once and for all, I am not a liberal. I vote neither Republican nor Democratic. I have other reasons for using "lib" as my username, but I don't think it's very relevant in this thread.

lib, Oh great, talk about Buzz Kill ... I can't argue that point ... I agree with you ... {Sorry K3ys ...
} I'm definitely right of center, but abhore all extremism ... I think Limbaugh is as much as a blowhard as Carville ... I think Reverand Al is as much as a racist as David Duke ... etc ...
While you can debate the merits of their policies, I think at least the conservatives stand for something which I don't see with the far left. I think that Liberals believe more in selling people whatever they think that they want to hear in order to get votes. At a deeper level, I think that conservatives ideology is based on traditional values, but liberalism is based more on relativism and humanism, which have no consistent basis for moral standards. I think that I could go down this thread for hours, so I better stop ... lol
| lib wrote: |

I'm amused by stupidity at all levels, but liberals in general. Most liberals I've encountered take positions on how they "feel", but when you scratch beneath the surface or present contradictory evidence, they immediately tune you out and fall back to "but that's how I feel". The problem is that liberalism is like communism ... it's a great sounding theory, but it is not feasible to apply it to society as a whole.
| lib wrote: |
| I don't think you can justify one form of extremism by saying that the other form of extremism is worse. |
Agreed, becuase the extremism to which we are discussing in this context is the degree to which one adheres to certain philosophy. That is a person's right to choose to believe whatever they want, and no one has the right to say that their beliefs are any more valuable than anothers.
That being said however, I think that you can debate the merits of those philosophies (see my previous post).
So I guess it's time to stop bashing liberals, and start bashing liberalism ...
