1. you can install a board on your own webspace
then youll have to download one, and install it on your own,
which sometimes can be quite tricky
2. or you can register here and post a link to your board on your webpage,
you wont be having problems with that one, but you might also not have the full control over it

depends if your host support mysql

What would be the main purpose for your message board? If you just want them to leave feedbacks then you could just use a guestbook instead. 
Also check out http://www.hostingphpbb.com/
They give you a free message board (just link to it from your site), You can change the style of the board and have full admin rights e.t.c
Oh yes an one more thing, the boards are PHPBB boards which in my opinion are the best boards aroung

And if you insist in installing one on the site, May I suggests CMS (Portal). You can do a lot more than forums. IE: Web Links, Downloads, Survey, etc... But if you want to just use forums base only you can use phpBB, vBulitin, etc...
