A few days ago, I was bored and downloading some uhhh...roms. 
Came across an old Genesis game I haven't played since I was a little kid...called Gunstar Heros! Made by all might god of platformers, Treasure, this game has got to be one of the best platformer games ever made. It sort of combines the speed of Sonic, with the fighting abillity of Megaman, and the fun of Mario. The game is HARD though. You have to figure out what weapon combo you'll need for the next boss, which there is a quite a few per level, and hope you don't die efore getting to them. It's really short too...
They did make somewhat of a sequel for it...Gunstar Super Heros for the GBA, sadly I haven't seen it around. v_v
