Im getting pretty mad at GRUB

Every time I install Linux and GRUB, I get an Error 5 - Bad Partition

can anyone help me with this, I don't know how to fix it, all I can do is remove GRUB from my Master Boot Record so that I can get into Windows, but then I can't get into Linux

Hi,
i had the same problem as i installed linux (Suse10) the first time. I lost my windows partition and everything got wrong. I formated my hd then installed windows xp again and then Linux. Now it works fine for me

Yeah, re-formatting the hard drive should work. I am pretty skeptical about GRUB, because I installed linux on a (ancient) computer I had, and after a while, I decided to get rid of Linux again, but I couldn't boot up, because of grub, and I guess it didn't find the original partitions. Anyways, I ended up replacing the hard drive. (The other one sucked, anyways...)
