That feature is on, I get popups about the new pms. If you don't then may be you are using popup blocker/xp sp2 blocker .

I never knew about that. I thought that the blocker is supposed to tell you when it blocks a popup.

If u r using IE6 on WinXP SP2 or FF then why not add Frihost to the safe list.
