Hi!
Does anybody know how to create jpg that is when you looking at him as thumbnail one picture and when you looking him in picture viewer (any) other thing. I have found a few pictures like that and it realy interested me a lot. I read all helps Photoshop paint shop, and similar programs, but nothing. If any body know please tell me because it driving me crazy. Thanks

Do you mean assigning a different thumbnail to the image then what's actually in the image?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to display a different picture as a thumbnail when you single-click on it in Windows, and be a different picture altogether when you open it?

This isn't possible unless you use software that "hides" data within an image file (something like this. This would not work however if you just opened the file - you would need to use a program to extract the hidden data.

The examples you've seen in the past are likely to be errors in the picture file. If you have a "damaged" file that may open, but doesn't show the full image, the thumbnail may be intact, so you can see the full image in the thumbnail. Again, if the picture has been edited but did not save correctly, the thumnail could potentially be different to the full image. However, this would not be on purpose - just the result of a random error.

I don't understand why you would want to do this though. The point in using thumbnails is to be able to preview the file before you open it - if you change the thumbnails, you would need to open the file to find out what is actually in the picture, so this would not be a useful feature in any way.

Yeah - I think that the picture in the thumbnail has been used as a background to the picture. The person who's made the image has used photoshop or some equivalent to overlay the other images onto the background - it's probably not saved the thumbnail data to the file correctly, so you've still got the original thumbnail.

It's nothing to worry about, but I don't think you can do this on purpose (although, someone may correct me if I'm wrong).

I saw lots of pictures like this, and I can send you now 5 pictures, that are similar. I have made 1000 of pictures in Photoshop.
Actually, I work as graphic designer, but I newer ever get this kind of result. And seen more than 10 to make me crazy and believe that is not mistake
