Is sites like rapidshare and megaupload legal or not.
if not how come they are having leading ad sponsars like adbrite or google adsense since they stictly prohibit illegal websites.
if they are legal then can a site which publishes the contents of these sites termed as legal or not .
Say An ebook which contains the links to files stored on this sites will be Legal Or Not???

The service is legal, but if a user uploads something illegal to it, then it is the user who is doing something illegal, not Rapidshare.

Why would it be illegal ?

When I'm at school, I sometimes use it to upload some stuff to use at home later (we cannot use the computers for emailing (sites blocked), the only class I can is use the entire internet, is informatics).

I know it gets used for illegal purposes too, but most things that can be used for illegal purposes are used for illegal purposes, that's the way poeple are.
