changing the logo and slogan will not change the quality of the products, will it??? to tell u the truth, i think AMD has a big chance of leading the processor market. just try the new AMD Athlon 64 and then tell me if intel is better or not. and another gd thing is tht AMD doesn't advertise but focuses on the main product. i love AMD!!!
It is true that AMD cpu's are far the best, but intel has many things, that just doesn't let her fall...It is a HUGE commercial organization, a LOT bigger than AMD with many powerfull links...An average person without much knowledge on computers, would choose intel, just because it is on advertisements, and because at the superstores, they try to convince you in order to buy them...Also thing of that:some companies put an AMD CPU and an intel CPU near, saying just the MHZ and the Cache!Intel CPUs have far more MHZ and Cache, something that make people think'aaa look at those noumbers!,the intel CPU is far greater...'Last week, i saw at a newspaper, a comparison between CPUs, and i started laughing!why?Because they compared an AMD athlon64 3200+ with an intel pentium 4 prescott m2 670, which cost 4 times as much as the amd one does!Thats the why AMD just can't take a larger piece of the market pie...
It's been seen before, companies with advertising money gained markets and blocked out other technogies.
I thing TCP/IP was one example. I heard (not sure) that most network protocols were better, but one company flooded the market with their stuff and the other available protocols were forgotten.
Technology evolves fast and so do companies. Intel has had a tremendous positioning with the past campaign and image. Now they have to move on. The popuse of this change is to give the message of leadership as well as innovation just now that AMD is righ behind.
Intel has great products and as I can see a good marketing department.
