Media player on my site?

Hello, my friend has some recordings for me to add to his site and he thinkgs later he might add some video.

Is there a script out there that lets you hear the music or video that i have directly online?

I tried hotscripts but i couldnt find anything.

Anyway i hope someone can help. THanks.

Actually I think I might have a solution for you, mate.

Upload the video(s) on your site using a FTP manager or go search on Google for FTP Commander if you do not have a FTP manager. Upload the videos on your site.

Example: Upload name = video1.wmv

Now, go to your index.htm HTML file and edit it where you want to post it, either on a table tag or the header (top of page).

Like SFMeatwad said you have to use the EMBEB tag.

But there is 2 requirements :
- to Netscape users, Netscape have to recognise the file to start the application
- user need the application on his hard drive and it have to be compatible OLE

Would this work for mp3 files also?

If the server MIME settings are set to use mp3 this would work. You could also use m3u files this way (mp3 playlists).

Remember though that playing mp3 files like this on a site hogs up a lot of bandwith.

this work with mp3, avi, swf ... files as long as it respects the 2 requirements.
