INSTALL PHP

DVNT
Hi all

Ok I am tryinh to install php on my site and have been following the tutorial (yes I am still very green) and get to the stage where I have to install php using install.php , but when I do that instead of getting the nice understandable page I get one that has the correct header but the rest of the page looks like source code or something.
Any ideas?
I have already changed the config.php and images/avatar to 777...Do I have to change /images to 777 as well or only the subfolder /avatar ?
Anyone that has had and solved this problem please let me know how or maybe it is something that I have done or haven't done.
Thanks

http://yourdomain.frih.net/install.php

You're using the preview thing...

PHP is installed on the server and shotuing at us isn't the best thing to do.

Anyway, you are using the preview mode of Directadmin. You have to view it through your BROSWER at http://subdomain.frih.net/forums/install.php and not the preview.

Ok wasn't shouting. Just trying to figure it out so now I will try to do it again but not through the preview thing...??? Actually may just be easier to try all over from the beginning.
Will be back I am sure, thanks for now.

Okay sorry about all that, but yes I notice now the caps on the post and also I was trying to install to a forums folder not in the public folder... Embarassed (I seem to be using this emoticon alot)
Thanks again for all the ....help.
Now one last little thing....what is the best way to link to this forum from my website? Actually I mean to which file/folder should I link or is there another way.
Cheers and happy new year

You should link relative to the public_html directory.

If your website is subdomain.frih.net
And you installed the forum in .../public_html/directory/forum/

Then you should link to htt p://subdomain.frih.net/directory/forum/ .

Okay thanks for the patience.
Everything is working fine now .
