FOUND NEW HARDWARE message wont go away

mae1strom
I recently installed a new printer and it works fine with all the proper drivers installed. I am using WinXP 64bit eiditon and the "FOUND NEW HARDWARE" message wont stop coming up, and ideas on how to stop this?

Well you can try to Uninstall and reinstall the drivers again. If that doesnot work, then some key has to be modified in the registry. Maybe the drivers donot recognise it correctly.
Try one thing, Remove the printer from Device Manager and then from the Find new Hardware again input the drivers. Hope that works

Animal
A Windows Update may help:

If it's an early version of WinXP 64, they did have some issues with device drivers that may (or unfortunately may not) have been fixed.

I agree with Animal, as Microsoft did not develop the 64bit version too much.

Drivers are an issue as very few companies develop 64bit drivers properly.

You might just have to live with it if.

If the printer work ok then it's a small price to pay for being able to use your printer in the 64bit enviroment.

I hope this helps.

Ok well thanks for the help, but I still cannot get the message to go away. The printer works fine though so I guess this is not really a big deal and I will just live with it.
