R.I. Couple Finds Rare Pearl in Clam

wowz
This was in the strange news section of comcast.net news... Imagine that... I pearl.. in a clam of all places! (sarcasm) I mean, that just doesn't happen. Everyone knows pearls come from clouds (more sarcasm).

Quote:
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. - A clam that a Portsmouth couple thought was rotten turned out to hold a rare gem: a purple pearl that could be worth lots of money.

Could you be a little more vague? Lots of money, huh? lol

Quote:
It happened earlier this month when Barbara Krensavage brought home about four dozen quahogs from a Newport seafood restaurant. Her husband, Thaddeus or "Ted," was shucking them when he came across one he thought was diseased. Upon closer inspection, the couple found the pearl.

Earlier this month... This is quality news writting here...

Anyway, more details:
It could be worth over a million bucks, chances of finding one is 1 in 2 million, they bit it when they found it (I thought that was supposed to be done to gold, not pearls, ew), they currently have it in a gold ring, and they might keep it if it's worth less than $10k as a family treasure.

Makes me wanna take up go scuba diving...
