I want to use a portal system, but I really don't know which is better
Which Portal System better?
PHP-Nuke??? What do you think about it?
Some PHP Portal systems:
PHP-Nuke
Post-Nuke
Spaiz-Nuke
What better?
PHP-Nuke
Post-Nuke
Spaiz-Nuke
What better?
smallnuke!!! It`s better than nuke. This CMS doesn`t have nothing similar to nuke systems (only name
), it`s free and can intagrate with vB, IPB, phpBB
i somehow have got a liking towards e107. its not a small or simple cms, but is very exhaustive. you may have to spend some time in configuring it to your requirements, but still worth all the trouble. it loads up pretty fast, and has a bulit in forum
what more, it has loads of themes and plugins as well.

phpBB Plus 2.15 Portal + Forum
PHP-nuke is a bad CMS, unsecure...
I like these :
Drupal
XOOPS
MODx
Nucleus
Mambo / Limbo

I use joomla, which is basically a fork of mambo. Very impressed and satisfied with it.
I think PHP-Nuke is best...
nope... PHP-NUKE is not safe ... I like Joomla , Mambo .
The best will be written by yourself
if u dont know how to write it in php u should use xoops open source.
its the only one that made adds to forum's like phpbb and smf and for image gallery 4images.
use xoops if u want something really good.
stay well

Ok. U have right.. But it is problem to learn???
You should have joomla a try.
They advertise themselves as "CMS for the masses" so it's quite easy to config and administer.
There are a HUGE amount of people using it, so you can find support in many forums and newgroups.
Joomla has a modular structure, so you can add to it as many features as you want just by adding components and modules.
There are plenty of free templates to change joomla's frontend.
You may integrate other scripts into joomla, as comunity systems (PHPbb or SMF), Gallery images, e.a.
You will find also several to tutorials and howtos just if you want to know more.

I just found a CMS script and I looked at its screenshots and I think it's a great and useful cms.

But I couldn't install it.

I have to Go with E107 or a Joolma with a SM forum add in
I think the best one is e107. Ive seen it used alot and i believe it is very easy to use.
Have used Mambo on more than one occassion. Its actually really good. Lots of portable components like polls, user communities, forums, pms functionality within the site, events calendar, photo and multi-media gallery and you countless templates and skin. It also has a very comprehensive but easy to use admin panel. Would recommend it.
You can get more info on portals from http://www.opencms.org. They rate most if not all php portals.
Cheers.
Marto.

I have recently discovered PHP-Fusion. For now, I installed it only on local mode, just for testing it, and it seems to work OK.
PHP-Fusion is a light-weight open-source content management system (CMS) written in PHP. It utilises a mySQL database to store your site content and includes a simple adminstration system. PHP-Fusion includes the most common features (forum, news manager, download manager, image galleries, etc) you would expect to see in many other CMS packages.
What does PHP-Fusion betther than other CMS systems is that ALL components are integrated and therefore you don't have to change a lot of css files and templates to give your site the same look.
You can have a look at this script at http://www.php-fusion.co.uk

I have used php nuke, cpg nuke, e107 and currently on xoops. e107 didnt work for me for some reason. currently using xoops and happy with it
I tried oops and PHP Nuke..I didnt like any of those two.
I heard that PHP Nuke is the best, but you cant configure it much.
Now I am stuck with Dragonfly Nuke...Its really good.
http://techsubway.com as of now I am using the Xbox theme.
Looks pretty neat and it might take a lot of time trying to configure according to your needs.

MKPortal is good. I am currently using it for my site, quite secure, and easy to create pages, blocks, etc.
