I have wireless internet (Apple Airport) and i'm now trying to use my Windows laptop on it (already use 2 other computers on the netword). But when i try to connect, it says that there isn't a network addres given to my laptop. Help please!!!
Does your network has a dns server to give auto ip address?
Btw, is there any connection at all?
did you configure your pc to accept connections from that network?
Apple Airport as in an Apple Macintosh down with Macs!!!
have you noticed you never hear about the inventor of macintosh yet you cant stop hearing about Bill Gates!!!
I though Air Port was only for music...
You need to make sure you have some form of DHCP enabled in order for a machine to get an IP automatically. DNS is for resolve from a domain name to an IP (i.e. Google.com -> 188.8.131.52).
wad kind of router u use ?
Macs are actually far superior to Windows in many ways, but that is for another thread.
As for your issue, you need a DHCP enabled connection with auto-assign clicked.
At the router, make sure that new addresses can be assigned. Some do not do it by default.
try with a static ip , ping other computer !
I would rather use static IP addresses...its much faster on startup..
