How to wake up computer?

Cano
How to make computer turning on at time we want? There are Wake-up settings in my ethernet adapter, but I can choose only OS controlled, Magic Packet or Pattern Match. I don't know what are these two, but when i set OS controlled I probably must use some tool to set what hour I want my computer to wake up. How to do it?

I dont know much about this but last time I bought an ethernet card there was an extra little wire thingy that came with it for that function. If you're wanting to remotely wake up your pc or something like that that wire needs to be hooked up..
but like I said I'm not sure

I believe the functioanality is called WoL (Wake on LAN)

More info is HERE

That site will give you a history of the WoL feature, some general info on setting it up, and provide some links to useful software.

Hope that helps.
