My name is Rev. Jack Roberto. I was ordained in to the Universal Life Church in 1981 and have spent the last 25 years training and studying for the mission God has set before me.
I am a Cantheist, in other words I believe that Cannabis contains a message from our divine creator directed to our mind through our neural receptors to our very Souls. If you have used Cannabis perhaps you have felt this message; Feelings of joy, peace, tranquility, an enhanced sense of beauty, truth and goodness, the sense, the feeling, the knowing of the Love from the spirit of God that dwells within us or feelings of love for your brothers and sisters.
It is well documented in history that Cannabis has been used in every major religion including Hindu, Muslim, Jewish and Christian. As is common among institutionalized religions, the knowledge of the true power and use of Cannabis has been a closely guarded secret. Those with the knowledge and power have kept us in the dark for centuries, knowing that if we knew the Truth that Cannabis contains they would not be able to manipulate and control our lives.
There is now finally hope. In 1993 the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was signed in to law, reinforcing our religious rights founded in the First Amendment. In 1996 the Rastafarian Decision set land mark precedence by allowing them to grow and use Cannabis. Then in 2003 the Religious Land Use and Institutional Persons Act passed in to law. So why are we not toking in freedom? Well the fact is most of us are huddled in little splinter cells around a guy who knows a guy. Hiding in terror of loosing our freedom, our families, and our property even our lives. Surrounded by people who still believe “Reefer Madness”.
The true key to our freedom found in history. Lec Wolenska, Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. all showed us that solidarity is has the power to end oppression. Can you imagine the effect after one of our people is arrested and a couple of hundred people have called the Police, the Mayor, City Council, D.A., the Governor and every TV and Radio station and news paper in town demanding our religious freedom.
The problem is how break the communication barrier to these isolated people without bringing the Authorities down on our heads before we have the numbers to make a significant impression on government and public opinion.
I have a plan, to open a Cantheist Garden Sanctuary in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first step is to set up a web site to act as a contact point for believers. Thanks to the wonderful people at Frihost.com this will soon be a reality.
