Running Old Softwares on Xp

Windows XP can be set to imitate various Os environment. If your software simply refuses to run on XP ,give this a try. Arrow

Right click the program and select properties and choose compatibility tab.
The copatibility mode covers mimicking various Operating System environment. Arrow You can set the program to run in 256 colors or 640x480 resolution which your older title may require. Exclamation

I needed to do that to install an old version of 'The Incredible Machine' (DOS game Very Happy)

Whenever I find a program that doesn't run in Windows XP, I just start up VMWare and load my Windows 98 Virtual PC Very Happy

Windows's own emulations are the worst. I too use external dos emulators to make old applications to work.
