if I understand you right, your problem is that your forum isn't working on your website.. is that currect?
you have to put the forumfiles into the "public_html" folder, thats where you index file should be, and also your forum.. or what did you mean?

If you use phpBB2 (just an examble) you can put it into your webhotel numer 1 and link to it from both web number 1 and 2...
you can also link to another forum...
but as long as you have the acces to the forum via the browser, you can always link to it nomater where it is placed og where the link is...
so, you can have your forum on your own webhotel and link it from the same or another website!
