Sugestion

ocalhoun
Pardon the topic name: it was chosen to make anyone clicking it less likely.

I found another way to cheat the system that might need to be taken care of.
1:post something
2:click <edit>
3:click <submit>

This produces 0.0075000000000001 points and frih$ every time.
It dosen't seem like much, but its possible that people could make their computers repeatedly do this in order to get all the pionts and frih$ they need. If this became widespread, it might cause bandwidth problems.

It may not be important enough to worry about, though.
SunburnedCactus
Well, if someone is willing to do that 13334 times for an extra frih$, I say let them have it. They deserve it! Wink

I'm not worried about someone actually clicking that many times, I'm worried that they'll program their computer to do it for them, and then just let it run.
How long would it take for a computer to follow those steps 133334 times?
People could just let it go 24/7, constantly getting them more.
SunburnedCactus
I suspect one of the "management" would eventually notice this happening.

I do agree that getting points for doing sweet FA is pretty pointless though.
Metaguy
Hmmm thats weird, but kinda neat. I dont plan to use it anytime soon but cool!

/\Great... That's what I was hoping to avoid.

Bondings
Yeah, there are easier ways to cheat the cash system, however it can easily be caught.

Anyway, making such an automated program will take much more time than posting some quality messages. Wink

There's a limit to it Rolling Eyes !

I'll give an example

Code:
this is my friggin text
I tihnk bondings is bondings
and bondings world r0xx0rs

[insert a chunk of copy and pasted text]

(Code tags so bbcodes can be shown)

1.7 points & FRIH$ are earnt for that. the user now has 10 FRIH$ & 10 Points (perfect for hosting Wink)

then. Let's say, he didn't quote this copy and pasted text, so, he goes in and does this

Code:
this is my friggin text
I tihnk bondings is bondings
and bondings world r0xx0rs

[quote] [insert a chunk of copy and pasted text] [/quote]

And the chunk of text is worth 0.5 points/FRIH$. The user would have lost 0.5 points & Frih$ from his total FRIH$ and points. So, he has 9.5 FRIH$ and 9.5 points.

Now, if it were the opposite, the mod had added text.

Code:
this is my friggin text
I tihnk bondings is bondings
and bondings world r0xx0rs

[insert a chunk of copy and pasted text]

edit - you know, you are one horrible person :D

And that

"edit - you know, you are one horrible person Very Happy" text is worth 0.4 points & FRIH$, he would have been added 0.4 FRIH$ and 0.4 points. The user has 10.4 points & FRIH$.

Let's say the whole thing was (
Code:
this is my friggin text
I tihnk bondings is bondings
and bondings world r0xx0rs

[insert a chunk of copy and pasted text]
) was worth 2.5 points & FRIH$. Only removing text would cause him to have deducted points. Adding text won't cause him to have added points.

I hopppe this solves everything.

I really don't see the point of going to all the trouble of making a script to do that when just 4-5 posts would give you an extra week... and take WAY less time... Confused
