Control panel noob

Excuse my stupidness, but i dont know poop about the filemanager or anything else in my control panel come to think of it. Anyways, i have put my html files in (got thru that part on my own) i put them in the public folder and tried opening the site. No sir, i got some funky picture telling me that i can control my site from the public folder.
So basically how do i put files in the right row, make the page start at the frontpage that i have made?
And well... how do i make it visible?

When you get into your ftp you upload the index to public html folder. There must be a index for them to show up for the first page. If you put your website down here I can tell you exactly what you did wrong.

Put all your files in the public_html directory, with index.html or index.php as your home page. (please note that it is case-sensitive, Index.html won't work)

You have to delete the private_html folder.

alrighty.. renamed the front page to index.txt and that didnt do poop except change the nice little picture into a forbidden error!

To delete a folder that is a default in Apache servers!

Okay now,

rename the file, that you want to be shown first, as "index.html" Wink
