I think that the real point of this topic was lost... tell us the joke answer now.
obviously the chicken, because the chicken was needed to lay the egg, and the egg could not have come from mid air, while even evolution says the chicken came first. The chicken evolved from some other version of fowl. Maybe the chicken came from a turkey, or a pterodactyl?
