Quite some riots in Sydney because of some arabic people who attacked two lifeguards which sparked riots by australians against all arabic-looking people.

It shows it doesn't matter that race and religion don't matter in these things. When the French riots happened, many were blaming it on Islam and citizens of African/Arab origin.
Haven't heard of this story yet.
I have no problems with muslims and their way of life, but when you come to live in a land that's not yours than you have to follow the rules of that land and you must integrate in that society.
When someone does not obay the rules of the land then there must be thought about punishment even when it goes to far then is my advise leave the country or be transported to your homeland.
If someone think that i have radical ideas about muslims is completly wrong. i can live and work with them as long everyone has respect for each other.
I'm Australian, and the riots in Sydney were the more disgusting thing I have even seen happen within Australia.
I want to stress again that it is disgusting that that many people would base their view of a race of people of a select few who decided to attack a couple of life guards. If they wanted to riot on the individuals house, I wouldn't have such a problem with it.
A text message was circulated that went something along the lines of "come to such n such a beach on such n such a day to celebrate wog bashing day and reclaim our turf".
No-one, including myself, would have thought there were as many pig headed australians out there as what turned up.
They were bashing people purely on their appearance - skin colour, facial features... A women was engulfed by a crowd of men hitting her when she went out to get milk.
Not even children were sparred the shame of taunting.
I'm disgusted and ashamed of the image Australia must have taken on from the incident. Even not involved myself - I have to apologise to everyone who was victamised - and stress that we have always before this been a culturaly accepting society.
Yes, there was "revenge" afterward from certain groups, but at least if was only smashin car windows, rather than people. And at least there were less people involved, and at least there was less of it.
as a local from the shire, and a frequent visitor to the 'nulla, i have to say that it doesn't surprise me at all.
you get a bunch of crew from out of town (irrespective of their race/colour/religion) gang-up and beat the crap out of a lifesaver (who is volunteering their time) and pretty soon those close to the lifesaver are going to want some kind of revenge.
this issue of revenge quickly changed into a 'race riot' however - (as the media put it) when a whole bunch of narrow minded shire yobs hyped up the fact that the initial bashings were done by lebs from out west.
it's sad to say, but the mentality in the shire is certainly one of zero tolerance to anything different. far less tolerent than, say the inner parts of sydney. indeed if you so as even dress different down in the shire, if you listen to different music, if you don't go to clubs like carmens, coyotes or northies and if you are not an avid fan of the football, you are automatically an outcast. (within youth culture anyway). take a walk up the cronulla mall on any given saturday and see how many 'individuals' you see. not many. instead, you will be bombarded with billabong shirts with upturned collars, "bad girl" shorts and "bed head" hair cuts.
these so called 'aussies' are the ones responsible for the text messages (that i was a recipipent of) that circulated calling for the 'removal of wogs'.
there is nothing wrong with wanting to defend yourself when you feel threatened, but to incite a war involving 5000 otherwise uninvolved people is totally wrong and utterly disgraceful aussie yob behaviour.

I was out on a date when a car of guys started verbally abusing my date and me because we were white. I ended up with a beer bottle thrown at my head. Go figure what there prob was. 4 drunk Lebanese ****** out for trouble anyway.

Doesnt mattter how many Australian media say that australia is racist...
But it is! Many people deny that they have racist thoughts. Guess what I believe many Aussies are racist. I was really annoyed at people who were vitimised by the labonese.
I know one case where father was beaten up by an labonese person infront of his 10 yearold son. Someone like this who come from a different location and attack someone infront of children should be deported! but the government is to wussy! on the other hand Aussies who get caught up in this should also be charged from attacking muslims.
That is my view. I actually admire Pauline Hanson and that radio presenter to say the things people are afraid to say people might aswell be honest about their views in Australia rather than hiding it so it doesnt offend somebody.

No, quite a fair distance from it, but cronulla was bordered off anyway to only residents that night and maybe that's why.Geez, riots in Australia? Wow I'm truly surprised, but what caused the riots to occur? I'm sure a scuffle between lifeguards and arabs would cause a full fledge riot.
There has always been tension between them.. Thats what i thought anyways.
I pray world turn charity and peace next year.
This incident futher illustrates the great tensions that exist between Muslims and Christians and people of various ethnicities across the world.
