I've seen so many arguments about which one is better, and why. Well, what's your opinion?
Too early to tell.
what the hell is revolution? playstation will always sit on top of the gaming market, although my opinion is that you cant beat pc games for graphics and gameplay.
Playstation...only took over because it was first and Nintendo made one stupid mistake with the N64.
Sony is gone next year, and Nintendo is back.
Nintendo Will always own the other 2 in my mind. They just can't compete with Mario and Zelda... The Revolution's controlers look awesome! I can't wait!!
So i cant wait for the ps3. The metal gear 4 looks awesome. But i dont know about playing an old man.
1.)What was the stupid mistake with the N64? Personally I like it more than the gamecube because, it seems until recently the type of games available for Gamcube are only kiddie games.
2.) This is coming from someone who still currently owns 2 working NES machines and a copy of the original Final Fantasy(I got it from a friend for FREE like 10 years ago, #_# I lucked out) and yes, that's right Nintendo started it the FF series. A working SNES, N64 and a Gamecube. (I never really got into handheld devices) I was somewhat forced to get a PS2 just because of the game selection was much more oriented towards my age level, don't get me wrong, animal crossing was fun but, only for a certain amount of time.
3.) If anything, I think that the downfall was the Gamecube for not being DVD compatible. They should've made it DVD and mini disc capable.
4.)Yes, I loved windwaker and am a huge Zelda fan, Have Zelda and Zelda II for NES. It was colorful and all but I much more appriciated the ones for the N64 because, well they were more challenging. I've beaten windwaker so many times it WONT LET ME START OVER...although I have to admit the end video is pretty sweet.
5.)After reading about the Revolution, I have definately decided to get one...only thing I'm worried about is the cost because, I've got to use a regular old pad for some games, even though it will be cool to swing the controller as a sword in Zelda. ^_^
6.)Shadows of the Empire ROCKED! Another reason the N64 ruled, came out with the BEST Star Wars game EVA.
7.) Sorry about this, I'm a complete loon and I forgot why I was counting. <_< *twitches from not being able to play NES because, his Psychology Professor is borrowing it...Tommorow he is SO going down in tetris*
I wouldn't worry about the cost of the revolution. Unfourtuneatly, I couldn't find the exact figures, but nintendo's consoles are ALWAYS 200 - 299 when they first come out. Which for what technology you're getting, is insanely cheap. Unlike microsofts 400 buck modded computer Xbox360... Oh yes, thats right. Did you know that you could make an xbox 360? It's easy! Go to a computer store and buy the parts. Any good computer store.
I'm not a huge fan of playstation, never was, I think its the controllers i don't like, but i must say that the graphics of the ps3 will be better than all the other consoles. Nintendo said they aren't aiming for wicket graphics, they are going for inovation, a smarter strategy that I like (don't worry, they said they will compete with ps3 a bit in graphics). And then the 360 looks worse than my computer, lol, though I do have a sweet computer .
The gyro's in the revolution controller make it an instant seller for me though, I will buy it for sure, hands down.
When I talked about price I meant like the price of buying the diffrent attachments for the controller if nunchuck style or remote controller just wasn't how you wanted to play.
I remember reading a long time ago(after the Genesis and SNES war) that originally, Nintendo and Sony were supposed to cooperate and produce a new console, but that for some extrange reason Nintendo pulled out. Eventually, Sony decided to still go ahead and produce the console(ps), and the rest is history.
anyone knows anything about this?
lol, nobody wants the 360? x)
i know im absolutely getting the revolution now =). the controller is very interesting (yet very small if i understood the javathingi right =/), and i know there will be great games. and of course, if it is as cheap as the developers predict, its a must have =D.
I myself voted for the Revolution. Nintendo basically invented gaming. One of the first game systems ever was made by Nintendo. Everybody underrates Nintendo. But the thing is that Nintendo doesn't even want to compete in this console war. They didn't give graphics a huge upgrade, they didn't set a $400 price tag on it, ect. They just want to be left alone.
Here's something funny. I have some friends that have worked for Nintendo in the past, specifically during the SNES/ N64 transition. An interesting tidbit came out of my conversations with them.
Nintendo made so much money from the Game Boy, Nintendo, and Super Nin tendo that they could release 7 more system over the next 10 years, not sell a single unit, and they would still be capable of releasing another.
Nintendo has not lost money on a single system yet, not even the Virtual Boy.
Does this mean that they will be on top during the console wars? No. But it does mean that you will never buy a Nintendo system and then find it without any support.
If you call Nintendo customer support, they will help you find a memory card for the N64, they can even help you find replacement components for any of their systems.
Try making a similar call to Sony about their PS1 or to Microsoft about their XBOX. Already if you want to get your XBOX repaired, the first advice that Microsoft will give you is to buy a 360. Sometimes they will still let you get your XBOX serviced... sometimes.
Anyways. That's at least part of why I am a Nintendo fan. They have yet to do me wrong even once in the almost 20 years that I have been a customer, which is more than I can say for any of the other companies.
NO, NO KIDDY GAMES.
Anyways, it was N64 going with cratridges that made imprtant 3rd parties jump ship to Sony.
If I get any it will be a ps3... there's something reliable about Sony. The Xbox 360 - Over rated. As for nintendo... last one I brought was was the N64 but I can say that they are very good consoles. I go with playstation because they have too many games I love on them like GTA.
xbox 360 sorta sucks so ps3 is the winner![/code]
The revolution and the 360 is my choices.
Why? Well, Nintendo is kinda an obvious choice for me.
And 360 because of LIVE
have you heard of what nintendo is doing for the 'live'? Well, its not at all like microsofts. But Nintendo's Revolution will be internet ready out of the box. And the cool part is is that you can download many games from past consoles, inlcluding NES and SNES and N64! That is cool
oo, They also might be releasing a super smash bros. included with the game (sorry, can't remember the source) code named super smash bros. 128. Its internet enabled... Can you imagine a smash bros where you fight against 128 people in a massive world? And remember, you actually FIGHT them by doing moves with your arms... good 'ol controller, maybe they will have a really good collision detections system and you can actually block moves, not by pressing 'R', but by actually moving your controller, or in the game your sword, to stop it. Now how does that sound?
id love to see how the revolution controller works out. right now, Im thinking if Im going to do that much physical activity, I might as well do it with real sports...
The way the Revolution controller works will allow people to play with less physical exertion if they so desired. The controller has been recognized by quadrapelegic groups as an opportunity for people with greatly restricted fine motor abilities to play games.
So yes, if you would like, you can use the Revolution controller as an excuse for crazy physical activity, but it can also be used as nothing more than a tool for fun.
as far as ive read, different developers comments, mtvs comments and so on, it isnt really that hard to use the controller. it doesnt require a lot of movement. they said they played metroid prime 2 with barely moving the controller from their.. leg.. or something.. im tired so i cant quite remember but yeah ;P
and their internet is TOTALLY FREE.
Are you sure you aren't mixing up Super Smash Bros. Revolution with Mario 128? >.>
yeah, I've heard that... and that was a long time ago.
But the Xbox 360's LIVE is also kinda cool.
I will still go for both the rev. and the 360.
I have heard that the PS3 prototypes that had been sent out to "special" stores had melted because of bad cooling.
YAY for Sony and the smack-dumb-thingys!
Xbox 360, no doubt about it.
Never had the first XBOX but this seems so cool.
Hope i get it for christmas
I voted for xbox 360 because, i have the xbox and i'm happy, but it's too early to express.
Yeah, I agree. And the gamecube only has party games like wario party and stuff. But it's too early to tell which console is the best. But I trust the Xbox360.
only has party games? Are you crazy? What about Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Soul Caliber, Resident Evil, Fire Emblem, Prince of Persia, any of the thousands of movie games (which most of them suck, but thats for all consoles ), Ghost Recon, the 007 games, need I go on? I could you know .
Anyways, about Mario 128, that is a different tittle, possibly the next true sequal to Super Mario 64. The one im talking about is Super Smash Bros. But I can't remember where I got the info from.
To this time, I thought PS3 will win anyway, but what makes Revolution look interesting - I don't know, but the whole console is a great enigma. I vote for PS3, because I'm a specifically Sony fan, but I will also interested in what Nintendo gives you for Next-Gen. Xbox 360 sucks, because they left DVD intact, whichever is an old generation disc now, by reports of specialist. To me it's not old, I'm just saying it's technologically old, when PS3 goes for Blu-Ray disc, who won the battle with HD-DVD.
i think xbox 360 is the best of them
but as if u can see it takes much room and it is bigger that revolution and ps3
but it has the best graphic and the best hardware beacuse it is made by microsoft
In short any console that plays Zelda has my heart
I'm more of a PC-games kind of guy, but I'd definetly chose the Revolution. As have been mentioned before, the Mario and Zelda games have been well over expectations (excepting Mario Sunshine, which in my opinion didn't add much from Mario64 and just generally sucked balls).
