PHPBB MYSQL Database Question.

Guelila
Hello,
I was moving hosts, and I moved all the files through FTP, but my phpbb forum, it says Could not connect to the database.
I downloaded the phpbb1 MYSQL database from this host and restored it to my new host, but now what do I have to do?

the original site url is
guelila.frihost.net
the new host site url is
www.freshynet.info

What can I do to make my forum work?
I have copied all files to my new host, so they basically have the same database, exept for the MYSQL Databases.
Please help me.

Thanks,
Guelila

you need to edit your config file of your forum

$dbname = '' ;
$dbuser = '' ;
$dbpasswd = '' ;

make sure you have a user created and assigned to tour database then fill in the variables above.
First = database name
Second = database username
Thirs = database user password
Bondings
It's called config.php and you most likely need to adjust the database settings like mathiaus posted.

You will also have to go into phpmyadmin and edit some of the config vars or you will not be able to login (unless you parked your domain before you uploaded phpbb)

Thanks for your help everyone,
but now I got a new problem...
I made the database, and I went to PHPMyAdmin to run the SQL query I downloaded, but it always times out on line 91.... What should I do?
(This is what it says)
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 300 seconds exceeded in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/libraries/read_dump.lib.php on line 91

Also, the site now apears like this...
www.freshynet.info

Thanks for all your help, and I hope to get this problem resolved soon,
Guelila. Smile

Your SQL Database is too big, the connection timed out.

Empty your database, then use a big dump (google for it).

err... I didn't quite get this part...
I serched "dump" from google, but not really helping..
what do you mean by big dump? what is dumping?

http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php

The Big Dump splits your .sql files into several files so you can upload it easily, without getting timeouts.
