Okay. So this was what happened.
n0obie4life, the forum troll of frihost, had logged out between 11.45am and 12pm GMT+8.
n0obie4life had hit the
Log out [ n0obie4life ] button on the forum.
Moments after he did it and closed his broswer, the server crashed.
zomg. I think it's my fault
. The server wanted me to stay on but I didn't.
But, I really had to go out...!
So, what do you think? Is it my fault? If so I know, I'm sorry
and yes, mOrpheuS is in this poll again.

'Cause I dont get. How can a server crash because someone tried to log out?
Look even if you hit log out and then closed you browser, nothing will happend to the server. That's because your browser would have already sent the data to the server before shutting down.
Also then there's the tried and tested TCP/IP layer which will take care of all the data transmissions and will usually discard partial packets (or the wont even be sent by the client comp). If your broswer closed properly the a compleate packet will have been send.
And a server was not made by 1 year old kids, that it can crash just because some incompleate data was sent (which is quite impossible due to the safe gaurds of the TCP/IP system)

zOMG. How did you even know that? I'm now talking to aliens on mars through MSN Messenger (that's on earth, on mars, they use NSM Messenger). We're plotting to kill the server once and for all by plucking out the power plug at the datacenter using hidden powers that the aliens have.

Luckily you CAN solve the problem. I have noticed servers are scared of me. They don't want to get in trouble when I'm around. It happens very often that someone calls: 'JohanFH I have a problem! can you look at it?' Then, I'll look at the server, wave my indexfinger to it and the computer will blush and resumes normal operation. So, n0obie4life, maybe log off when I'm logged on.
