I have just started web building are there any really great tips you guys have? Also, is Taco Html Edit a good place to start?

For tips i don't know what to say besides learn about CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
Read some online tutorials and dont stay up late unless you have a project which is due the next day.
Webdesign can be considered an art .... so don't worry if at first you do not succeed - play around with the images, the color schemes, the buttons eventually it will work out
P.S. I am no that good at webdesign, but i can't say that whatever i design disgusts everybody.

I have to agre with savabg, it is an art and you can't rush it. The only way to make a good site design is to play around with it, changing the colors several times before it looks good.
