uncompress zip file in DA [Resolved]

Hi. I have a zipped current site and need to uncompress in DirectAdmin.
I know cpanel can uncompress zip file in file manager. but, I have no idea how to do that in DirectAdmin.

any help on uncompressing utility or way to uncompress zip file would be appreciated!. thx. Wink

You should be able to unzip Gzip files in DA. Wait untill Bondings reads this, he'll be able to better answer your question. Wink

There is a simple script/php command to unzip files, but it has been disabled because it set the user as apache instead of you. (causing you to be unable to edit/remove the files again)

So, at the moment I don't know of any way to unzip it on your ******. There is most likely a script able to do it, but I'm still searching for it.

Apparantly, however, if you would be able to save the file as tar.gz instead of .zip, then you should be able to extract it from the panel. (didn't test it yet)

I found some gzip or tar compress utilities from google.
but, they does not work. they can compress to gz or tar but, there is no uncompress button in DA filemanager after uploaded.

yeees!! this is confirmed. It works like a charm with 7-zip.

first make .tar file and next compress with .gz! all done!
