how to play avi files?

idownload divX but it still doesnt work. i try to dowload the plug-ins but it doesnt work. is it because of my video card? my comp is old but i updadted it to xp

well where did you want to replay it? in media player, or in your browser?

maybe the container (*.avi is a media container) is buggy.

Is it the player that isnt working or is it the codecs? Not all AVI files use the same set of codecs. There are many AVI codecs available. There is an application known as GSpot which you can use to figure out the codecs required to play a given video file.
