Okay, i signed up for a .tk domain...

i didnt know if i had to, but i parked the domain... www.example.tk/

Then i installed phpbb and used the .tk domain instead of frihost.net

Now i cant enter the forum. It keeps leading me to the main frihost site which is supposed to show up if i upload an index.html file in the public_html folder. Well, i haven't uploaded any index.html file yet.

help

EDIT:
okay wait, when the page loads, there's a forums/ folder. Only if i click it, will it then leadme to the forum i installed. How do i fix this problem now? Confused

Normally .tk provides redirection, not dns services.

Unless they give you some place to put dns records/nameservers, then it's only a redirection to the real domain. Not really useful in my opinion. Wink

You should better use a real domain (.be are for free for the first year or just buy one) or use our subdomain.

As bondings said... dot TK is a redirect service, not a DNS service. You can only have the tk domain direct to one place.

You can sign up for a free .be domain though (go to eurodns.com; search in this forum for a thread detailing that) and park that in cPanel - because you are given DNS control with that.

ok, i guess i have to stick to .be

However, are there any companies that provide DNS service? i wouldn't mind if the domain name's a lil long. ok well, at least not TOO long Confused

Try http://afraid.org/ . They offer subdomains with dns support.

Even though it is a redirect, .tk is still useful for people who aren't prepared to shell out money but still want a fairly catchy title for their site.

I agree though, the investment in a .com is worth the while in the long run. Very Happy

lol, thats easy. if your site is.. www.bitch.frih.net ad your folder is named forum

then go to your .tk user, and modify your site url to www.bitch.frih.net/forum

it should do it. but .tk got a ugly banner to seach for tk sites Mad it suck[/quote]
