New Python modules

restonpiston
Hi, I just wanted to ask if it's possible for me to install a few new modules for Python, such as requests or lxml

You cannot install modules but you can use CGI scripts in the CGI bin. I'm not an expert on Python, but the few posts I've seen work with CGI scripts.

If you want to install your own modules it would probably be better for you to get a VPS. I doubt you'll find shared hosts who will give you the necessary SSH access and permissions, but you could probably look around. Giving SSH access is a risk of course for the host.

Here is an example of someone using Python on a hosting account at Frihost.

Thanks for your answer.
I managed to install my own modules (I'll write about it later if anyone is interested) but now i have another problem.
One of my modules (lxml) relies on having a newer, i guess, libc6, which i can install. Here is the error trace also:
Code:
<type 'exceptions.ImportError'>: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /home/restonpi/public_html/libs/lxml/etree.so)
      args = ("/lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found...by /home/restonpi/public_html/libs/lxml/etree.so)",)
      message = "/lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found...by /home/restonpi/public_html/libs/lxml/etree.so)"

It's a tough question but i hope someone could help me

I'm not an expert in Python. Hopefully Amagard or Jestoy can answer for you.
