Trailer is still loading, but I'm positive this movie will be awesome. It's being done by the X-Men director & screenplay writer who left after X2.LOL, kevin spacey as superman! 
But the new superman does kinda look like the one who broke his neck while horse riding (i think). With that small piece of hair twisting in front of his forehead

The only qualm I have with this new Superman is the emblem on the chest. I think it should be a lot bigger.

I don't think they look alike. Both the actors, Chris Reeves and Brandon Routh are made up to LOOK like Superman from the comics (who had that little wisp of hair.) In fact, IIRC, Reeves' hair looked nothing like Supes at first, so in screen tests they had his put black shoe-polish in his hair.

No, the story is said to follow the first Superman film in canon, with PARTS of the second film used as vague reference (I think the Louis Lane love story parts.) With some of the retarded crap that came out of the second movie I'm really not all that upset. Yeah I saw that trailer a while ago. It doesn't really reveal much about the movie though.
I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't cast some of the actors from the tv show Smallville for the movie though. Or at least Tom Weiling. I'm so used to seeing him portray the role of superman, it's going to be weird having this new guy be superman for the movie.

The reason they didn't cast Welling, because Welling didn't want to do it nor did the director want him to be in it. Something about skewing the perspective or rather. I don't really recall and I also stand by that choice.

Uknown actors? Tobey Mcguire had established himself as a grade A actor even before Spider-Man... well not really, but he did a really good job in Cider House Rules and Pleasantville. I suppose Spider-Man just made him even bigger.Superman Returns? Batman Returns? Like... OMG? What's gonna come up next? Wonderwoman returns? I think they really should stop trying to revive the craze of those superheros and try working on some better project. Maybe do a Justice League Unlimited movie or something. That would sure be awesome and better than this Superman Returns thingy.

It has NOTHING to do with Smallville or that franchise. In fact, it's a direct sequel to the first film (with Christopher Reeves,) with some things borrowed from the second film.i wouldn't trust my life in a man who uses his underwear over his clothe... anyway...
Kevin Spacey as Superman? I wonder how good that choice is. No doubt he is an excellent actor. But these days superhero roles are not played by great artists like Spacey. They usually prefer a comparitive newbie.

Ummm, have you even watched that teaser or read this whole thread?? Spacey is LEX LUTHOR, not Superman. Brandon Routh plays Superman, and he IS a relative "newbie", as you put it.this should be good. The camera motion in the sky is really good.
I'm a superman fan... a bigger one for smallville.

Thats a bit old but I'm glad that the storyline will be next, It gets boring over time to rehear the stories again and again but from a diferrent view. Like spiderman, I dont know how many times they try retelling the story. Same with King Kong.
