Today, Supermoon Eclipse

Gehr
Greetings everyone, I'd like to draw your attention to an event tonight that is rather uncommon!

A "supermoon" or the phenomena of the moon graduating in size due to the axial tilt of the planet and its location in the sky, making it only appear bigger.

In addition to its larger size, it'll have a red/orange tint due to increased amounts of radioactivity in the ionosphere.

Finally, the Earth will pass over direct alignment with the moon (Lunar Eclipse), and will be visible from most of the contiguous United States of America.

Thoughts? Photos? Creationist propaganda?

It looks unusual bright tonight. No eclipse yet as far as I can see.

Now there it is. Shocked Unfortunately I can't find the camera but I'm sure you will be able to find photos of it all over the web anyway. It looks quite dark. The red coloration is not that eminent.

Looks like there is an excellent summary of the event lastnight in a single picture.

Anyone who went to bed, or had a cloudy night, enjoy!

I must have missed the eclipsed. All I saw when I was looking at the moon (without knowing there's an eclipse coming) was something bright and yellow with a halo surrounding it.

Not a super moon, but an ordinary full moon is today to be seen in the sky.
