What do you call a wooden door lock?

Peterssidan
What do you call a thing that sits right next to some doors that you can spin so that it prevents the door from opening. It's not really about security. It's just so that the door shouldn't open because of wind or gravity. I have seen them on regular sized doors on old shed or barn like buildings. The ones I have seen has always been made of wood and the door has been of wood too. Is there a name for this kind of thing?

Latch?
Peterssidan
So everything that is used for this purpose is called a latch? Is there a more specific word for this particular type of latch?

I found a few images, in case you don't understand what I'm talking about: img1 img2 img3 img4
