Ok my sites frihost.net domain comes up in google and is indexed etc. I brought a .net domain which I parked via Cpanel. I then submitted it to Google and that url also appears in googles results.

Now i come to my problem. I then also parked another domain .com which I also submitted to google. this one however seems google unfriendly as it does not appear in the search results at all.

I first thought this was because it only used the host domain or whatever so it would only use the frihost.net however it also uses my .net domain so I dont know why this has happened.

I bought and parked my domain at the end of july and still google fails to recognise it Confused

Anyone know what the problem is or how to solve it?

Thanks for pointing out that mistake! Laughing

Anyway some advanced searching and payed subscriptions have revealed that I should've used a 301 redirect which I'm now using and hoping this will solve the problem.

Any other ideas or advice would still be helpful though thanks

Hmm the first thought that came to my mind is that, your site is being sandboxed due to being new(July-nov is less than 6 months). But extreme tracking shows it is alive since nov 11, so that is ruled out. Next step checking links to you on google, yahoo, msn. Yahoo:300+,Msn:700+, Google:0. Also google has not indexed any of your pages. Check using site:http://siriusblacks.com/ . So only reason which seems reasonable to me is that goog is penalising you for using any tactic which they think was Spaming. You are redircting from sir..net to sir..com, right. Were you using 302 previously? Coz goog looks down on 302 rediects, but 301 is ok.

Well I'm using a code on my main index page from which all other pages are loaded into (using php).

I learned about 301 the other day and found a page on it and added this line above the actual header redirect

However more confusion sorry. After reading those links you just kindly provided one page says

Question Will Google be redirected to my .com domain at all
Question If not how can make it change?
Question Will it be able to recieve the 301 request
Question If it has penalised against me for just using 302 instead of 301 when it next searches will un penalise me for changing it?
Question This page talks about redirecting through .htaccess. Is this better or just another option

SE dont execute scripts which run on clientside like vb/javascript. Yours is PHP code, which runs on server side, so the SE the webpage you expect. It will see the siriusblacks.com. And no if you have been penalised for using 302, once you use 301 it should come in goog index.

First of all, google and other search engines not only hate duplicate content, but it's also giving you a bad ranking qua link-popularity. I already wondered what was up with your site, by the way.

Search engines see them as different domains/pages with the same content. Also, links are going to the different domains instead of 1, causing your site to lose a lot of links.

So, in your case there are 2 problems: different domains and canonical problems (with or without www).

How to fix it?

1) Choose 1 domain with or without www, in your case http://siriusblacks.com/ , I suppose.

2) For all other cases, put a 301 to that domain. 301 means that the page got permanently moved. All links will then count just like they were pointing to the new page.

3) The easiest (but black magic) way to do it is with mod_rewrite in .htaccess file. It's not easy to understand and you can make errors and create eternal loops, so deal with care! Just don't be scared and try it out till it works.

4) And finally, the code.

To see what google indexed of your site, the most useful way to see this, is to search for "site:<yoursite>".

http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Asiriusblacks.com - not indexed.

http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Asiriusblacks.net - 2 pages.
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Awww.siriusblacks.net - 1 but just the page, not the content.

http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Asiriusblacks.frihost.net - 1810 pages indexed.
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Awww.siriusblacks.frihost.net - 448 pages indexed.

This means that there is definately a big problem if you target the .com version.

Just forget about the submitting to google. The only thing you might want to submit is a site map in rare occasions. Websites don't need to be resubmitted, but linked to. If you submit a website it takes weeks to months for google to visit it and even then, the pages won't have any value without links. If other sites link to your website, then it will be crawled in a matter of days(depending on the quality of the links).
And you already have a link on our homepage, so that definately won't be a problem.

I didnt mention I changed to htaccess a while ago. The first part is my otlink protection the second my correct domain chnage thingy and the third for the urls on my site. Is it possible they conflict?

They work fine in my browser and checking here the same but google hasn't recognised it or something
oh and I've submitted a sitemap to google, the only error theyve had was once when the server was down otherwise they claim to have crawled succesfully.

I suppose this code is redirecting every non-siriusblacks.com url with a 301? If yes, then it should be working.

Do you have any other redirects from the other domains? And since when did you add that code to the .htaccess file? A few days, weeks or months?

Then your domain might have been banned due to the duplicate content, hopefully temporarily. Maybe wait till the next google update.

This thread is very important and will be helpful to me too. Some keyword in my site has page 1 ranking in Yahoo search and msn search but when I search in Google only the domain itself is simply indexed but no pages are indexed.

I wonder if I have a problem special one like the one above or most of the sites hosted here have this problem.

I will check more and learn more..

This is all very interesting.

I notice in Direct Admin, there is an option for Site Redirection. Can this be used to redirect my site without the www to with the www? If so what type of redirection is it and how will Google see it?

I want to redirect http://technical-assistance.co.uk to http://www.technical-assistance.co.uk so however you get there you get http://www.technical-assistance.co.uk

strange problem u got fellow frihoster,
mayby a lil advise from me,
i also have many domains redirecting to my site but i did sum lil things diffrent ok here we go:

first of i made sure my website has dynamicly created pages, so pages with also random content have a look at my site: www.makaveliliveson.com see it has a random quote block, random pictures block(s), constanly changed and updated news,
and sum mo stuff that makes the site everytime u visit it a lil diffrent SO NEVER ENTIRLY DUPLICATE CONTENT ! Even when u visit the same page also im looking into dynamic metatags and dynamic page titles that change also evertime but that i didnt did yet, ok we go on see also on my subdomain tupac.frihost.net its fully scanned and indexed, my .tk domain is a diffrent story i had this before my .com domains and they also dont forward it but put ur site in a frame on their .tk domains, ok last but not least i had allmost the same problem with my other .com domain for the site: www.makaveli-lives-on.com but see i redirected that to a diffrent page then the index so its even more unique !

Hope this lil advise from a fellow phper and frihoster helped !

cheers ppl - here`s a newbie. thats quite weird that you site dotn appear on google, i bought my domain some time ago but due to lapse of idea and short of time, had not been able to put or get it hosted. but, if i type the name, google recognizes it but when i click on it obvisouly nothing came out - could find the site. what happened?

It's hard to get anything on there. Besides, on the search results, you're lucky if you can 10023rd on on the results list for a query.

There all gay sites ahead of yours too.

I'll give 10 Phri$h to anyone who can get my site number one on on the search results for "Sith Order." lol

That is not true. Google is the most used search engine in the world. The reason you can't get your website higher up is because you are using Flash. Your site won't ever get high up in the rankings on any search engine. You also have to work hard at getting a high ranking on any search engine.

It seems like your website isn't even indexed by google. To be honest, it shouldn't be that hard to get your website ranked #1 for Sith Order.

Just get a few links like this one and it should be there in less than a month.

Maybe try to list your website in a few of those directories http://info.vilesilencer.com/main.php?rock=seo-friendly.php . And use Sith Order or The Sith Order as site title. That should get your website crawled and probably ranked for that search term.

I've also been having Google problems due to duplicate content. My blog was doing really well with Google and getting on the top of searchs when suddenly it stopped. I have erased the duplicate content (my old blog on blogger) and was wondering how long it would take to get some better rankings again. After your penelized does it take weeks or months to work your way back. Thanks
