Well, you gotta start somewhere.

Usually at the bottom. Shocked

if you are not create a program , i think you start with MULTIMEDIA BUILDER. than Visual Basic ideal for you. And than you must learn C/C++ to create professional programs.

If you have no previous programming knowledge, I would have to recommend VB.NET. Its one of the simplest programming languages around. You can even get the free express edition of the VB.NET compiler here http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vb/default.aspx
and then find thousands of free tutorials on the internet. One of my personal favorite sites is the VB.NET school at Programmers Heaven - http://www.programmersheaven.com/2/VB-NET-School
It assumes no previous programming knowledge and takes you step by step until you understand most aspects of programming in VB.NET.

Good Luck

i heard there was like a veri simple program which helps u step by step and u can make like simple games. nt those like sims or warcraft but just simple graphics and some sort of a veri veri simple game. do any1 noe wad program tt is? n it makes use of flash too.

Maybe you could start with scripting, like mIRC scripting, or even start by create a custom map for warcraft. Creating custom map is lotsa work, but the end product will be satisfying, so it's fun to create 1...If you are into more serious programming, VB.net is great for starters as it has the autofill ability( don't quite remember what they call that, i suppose is "intellsense"). Java is great as you could do a midlet for J2ME on your mobile device, although you could do the same with VB for windows mobile and C++ for symbian.

!!!!! NO NAY NEVER LEARN VISUAL BASIC !!!!!

It's - like most microsoft stuff - crap!! It would teach you wrong programming methods and its sytax really sucks!
You should start with javascript (there 's a really good tutorial on htmlgoodies). Then go on with Python, Java, Perl, and end with C/C++.

I must back up on this one, dont waste ur time with VB.

If u want to make some easy games u can try Flash AS 2.0 its not that hard and yet it is OOP. Plus u can publish ur games online.

Personally i never understood why there is this "dont start with C++ rather go with something easier first" attitude. I mean its not that hard to start with C++ directly not like u shall start with API Hooking but from some basics that will get u slowly up there.

Anyway there is always these XY ways how to "start" "do something" ... whatever suits u the best, the hardest thing is not to give up. Smile

hmmmz but den wad is realli so bad bout VB i mean is it like hard to learn or wad or is it juz bad...

I learnt Visual Basic, quite fun Wink. I wouldn't call it a waste of time, it's just, more knowledge.

ya the quest for knowledge but i always feel a website is cool if it has all the elements like wind water fire....juz jking but the elements r flash html scripting and many more lah

If somebody really what to learn programming languages, probably the bet site for this is www.codeproject.com. Here you can find lots of stuff about C/C++, SQL, C#, Visual Basic...
Go getem Cool

ok then thanks for that link but its like does not give a software that you could use to program those simple types of programs. its like more of a tutorial but not a tutorial for the software or anything this tutorial seems pretty hard and not those sort of simple basic leading by the nose sort of tutorial. yea i admit i am pretty bad at doing it
