Yeah, Eddie dying really came out of nowhere, didn't it?

I haven't heard or seen the results of an autopsy yet, but it sounds like he had a massive heart attack in his sleep.

I just hope he didn't give in to temptation and overdose on some sort of drug.
He was doing so well, being sober/straight for 4 years.
I think today, November 15th, would've marked his 4-year victory.

That'd be even more crushing to his family, friends and fans, if any sort of substance abuse was discovered.

This has been such shocking news for the entire wrestling community. When Chris Candito died, everyone was stunned because, paraphrasing Dave Meltzer, it came at a time after everyone had thought he was out of the woods. Similarly, Eddy Guerrero's battles with drug addiction, drinking and pain killers have been well-documented and openly admited by him. After his car crash, a lot of us thought he was done for. After he went to rehab and then was arrested for DUI, a lot of thought this was going to be his end. However, he cleaned up, he got back to work and he went around the world proving that he was serious about wrestling and he was serious about making things work. He reconciled with his family and he eventually was welcomed back into WWE with open arms. His ascension to WWE World Champion on the Smackdown! brand last year was a dream come true for a lot of his fans. Unlike a lot of people who have passed away in the past few years (Rick Rude, Big Bossman, Hawk), Eddy Guerrero was on our screen each week for over a decade. His charming personality (even when he lied, stole and cheated) resounded with people across the world. He was larger than life and sadly his life ended much sooner than anyone would have ever believed. Years of hard living and steroid abuse no doubt contributed to heart problems. Last night's RAW tribute show was a moving experience but also a testament to how the show continues to go on. Those that loved him, loved the man and the friend as well as the performer. Most of us never had the opportunity to personally interact with him, but his spirit and charisma will never, ever be forgotten. My prayers are with his wife. children, extended family and friends in this impossibly difficult time.
