Ok here's the deal. I am looking for a HP 4P/5P/6P Printer. Unfortunately HP has stopepd manufacturing them and although new ones are much faster but there happens to be a feature in that old printer I need. Printer should be in good condition and not much used, There should be no problem in working whatsoever. (apart from Toner which I can replace myself).

NO NO I'm not trying to buy a printer for Frih$. Actually Printer cost(real money) will depend on its condition. If any of your friend/relative has it and wants to sell it then 600frih$ will be for you and if you have it then you can take them as bonus.In other words 600frih$ are just for the service to facilitate the deal.

Edit : Preferribly in India or I mgiht end up paying double the cost of printer just as shipping & ebay.com is not going to work at all for me for many reasons.

I know.. I'm not going to deal the printer here, its not even possible. 600 frih$ is for the person who can just find the right thing for me.

I've seen all offers on ebay before, it will not work because

1)They only provide shipping to US.
2) I calculated the shiping through DHL and it came out to be 273$ only for a 19$ Printer.
3)Even if I find a cheap shipping company, I cannot trust the ebay sellers at all. Refund will not work either as it will double the shipping charges.
4)Unfortunately there's no listing on ebay.in.

Which city are you in, by the way ?
I have seen several used computer parts shops in Nehru Place, Delhi.
I once picked up a good-as-new nvidia vanta gfx card from one such shop, and it's still running !

If there's a place like that in your city, you can perhaps manage to find that printer (with a little market research).

I'm in South Delhi...I've already checked with Nehru Place. Found 2 Hp 4P Printers but both in terrible condition.One of my associate has one who wants to sell it for 35,000 +(I'll have change toner worth approx. 4500) so thats is 40,000. Thats tooooooooo costly. If he goes to nehru place and evaluate his printer, im sure they wont even give him 4000.I know there are many indians here so I thought must be worth asking.

40K for an outdated model is definitely over the top.
But there's no harm in checking out what is available at Nehru Place.
Perhaps, and it won't be easy, if you can convince the shopkeeper for a trial run before you actually pay him ?
They do not really care about cleaning the dust off the parts before demo-ing it to the customer. so don't just go by the looks.
How much do you reckon, the repair costs will be, in case you end up with a defective printer ?

Believe me, if you can't find it at Nehru Place, there are not many other places where you will.
Apart from, ofcourse, getting it directly from a owner.

I know what you mean, I didn't go by the looks, it had the Page Count of over 2 lakhs and rollers were really usedh up. A demo cannot work a lot actually as they have refilled toner so it would be hard to judge the condition of fuser etc.

HP is the only place to get it repaired who use genuine parts, They are stopping repairing of old models slowly so thats another reason I want to buy a less used printer in good condition.

A new Printer(1022) is available in 11,000 with 3 yrs warranty which is atleast 4 times faster but new printers use different technology and are incapable of handling the media I want to use.I want to use heavy media for my printing company and it is important that the rollers and fuser are in good condition. Even 1 spot in the print will not bother home/office users but it will be in my case Sad.

I'd surely like to know about the other places you mentioned, so far I have checked Nehru Place, some Hp Dealers. I aint been able to find one who deals in old lasers, yellow pages didn't help either.

hi the shipping cost as well as I can figure is 304.88 + auction price. I normal don't ship over seas but am will to. The page count of this unit is 30001 and this is a picture of the printer being sold. Thanks for your interest Brad

Now i'm not sure if its worth to spend 304$ for a 20$ printer and im not even sure if its of my use or not..
