Whats the best web authoring tool for a complete n00b

I have never used any web design tool or PHP tools where do I start? And what is the cheapest or free tools told Postnuke is very eaisy to set up but hard to change any hel would be great.

It is absolutely not acceptable to use wysiwyg html editors: they output the worst code that will still work.

Try Dreamweaver or Frontpage there easy once you get the hang of it. For php use Dreamweaver it give's you tutorials and different things you can practice using. Look at google for tutorials on how to use php and other web designing things.

went to the library and got PHP and my SQL web development by Luke Welling, could be a long night lol ,also I found some good tutorials on google search.. whish I could find a Video tutorial or something like the Lynda learning stuff only for free lol!!
I’ve downloaded the Macromedia full eval suite if its good Ill look on ebay for a copy hopefully it will be cheap 
