I have a strange problem with yahoo messenger... Whenever I start yahoo messenger , a malicious program also starts with it which eats up my CPU and the computer slows down until I press CTRL+ALT+DEL and shut that program off... That Program has a process name "navagent" and it runs a file
"C:\windows\navagent.exe". I tried deleting that file but it comes back when I restart my Computer... Guys please help me out...

Hi. Its clear your system has been infected with a worm or a virus. Do you have any antiviruses installed on your system? If you do, update their definitions and run a full system scan.

And which OS are you on, Windows 9x or XP? If your on XP, you might try restoring your system to a date prior to when this problem started occuring.

Could be Spyware - download Spybot Search and Destroy and check.

Symantec associates the file navagent.exe with a worm known as W32.Unfunner.A but then that worm is related to MSN Messenger and not Yahoo

If you've deleted the spyware, install Gaim. That is another IM-client.

http://gaim.sf.net With that client you can chat with all your friends. AOL, MSN Yahoo!, Jabber etcetera.

Your computer has surely been infected by a virus or something similar to it. If you have an internet security of antivirus software, use that to delete it or even if your antivirus is stumped of can't detect it, then try manual scan and quarantine it.

This does sound like a malicious program of some sort.

Try going to an online virus scanning site if you have a good and fast internet conection, otherwise try installing a good anti virus software. AVG is free and can be downloaded very quickly.

Once downloaded, run the update tool first and make sure you've the latest edition.

The shut down all programs and let AVG do a complete scan of your machine.

You could also try www.e-messenger.com or /.co.uk I can't remember which it is, but you can log in to your yahoo account there until you sort your problem out.

I hope this helps.

You might want to try http://housecall.trendmicro.com - that seems to be able to clean pretty much any virus on your computer. The antivirus the company makes is for corporations, so they have a really powerful cleaner.
