GF6600GT vs. GF6800
Always go for the higher number - 6800
Unless you plan on doing duel 6600 GT SLI, go for the 6800. If you have a bit more cash on you, the 6800 GT.
I have a BFG 6800GT OC and I've got it overclocked very close to the 6800 Ultra clock speeds with no special cooling. It's a great card and it keeps on chugging. I'd recommend the 6800.
I'd go for the 6800 and buy a Artic Cooling Silencer 5(I think) and overclock the hell out of it.

I have an MSI 6600GT AGP on one of my computers, and my new eVGA 7800GT PCI-E came in yesterday. Honestly, the 6600GT doesn't compare, and I am sure the 6800 would be blown away too. I say save up for a 7800GT / GTX or buy a 6800 with an aftermarket fan/heatsink and OC the hell out of it.
