There are two quotes that I am really fond of, really mind-provoking.
This first quote I heard from someone online, I think it was from a TV show, although I don't know the name of it.
"I am standing 10 feet away from the edge. I just realized that 10 feet isn't that far down."
And this quote came from my friend the other day, my one friend asked my other friend "What would you do if someone called you a cracker ?" He replied "Well the chicks would love me when they're eating soup".
my favorite quote is"life partners potential" it shows us that without the ability to aspire we get nowhere in life.

"Mess with the best Die like the Rest" - from the Film Hackers
One of my favourite quotes is from the german law:
it says, that you will be punished with up to 5 years jail when you cause an atomic explosion.
Mit Freiheitsstrafe bis zu fünf Jahren oder mit Geldstrafe wird bestraft, wer eine nukleare Explosion verursacht
StGB § 328, (2), 3.
it says, that you will be punished with up to 5 years jail when you cause an atomic explosion.

by the way: i'm german
"I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family. Not some mid-level government disfunctionary with a bad comb-over handind it out to crack addicts squirting out babies."
I don't have a favorite quote. Here are some quotes that I like that you might enjoy:
G.K. Chesterton wrote:
|Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried.
Marcus Tullius Cicero wrote:
If you pursue good with labor, the labor passes away but the good remains; if you pursue evil with pleasure, the pleasure passes away and the evil remains.
Marcus Tullius Cicero wrote:
I prefer tongue-tied knowledge to ignorant loquacity.
Thomas Aquinas wrote:
Friendship is the source of the greatest pleasures, and without friends even the most agreeable pursuits become tedious.
Hmm, one of my favorites would probably be this:
"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
I have a LOT of fav. quotes. Some of them are cute, some inspirational, and some are just plain silly. Here are some:
"There are three types of people in this world....1. those who make things happen...2. those who watch things happen....and people like me... 3. people who wonder what the heck just happened."
"I didn't fall in love... He tripped me!!"
"We all can't be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the sides and clap as they go by."
"If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't jump with them, I'd be at the bottom to catch them."
"True friends stab you in the front...not the back."
"The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch, swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had."
"A true friend is someone who tries to pick you up when you've fallen, and if they can't pick you up, then they lay down beside you."
"Everyone hears what you say. Friends listen to what you say. Best friends listen to what you don't say."
"A friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be in jail with you saying 'Dang that was fun!"
"It is not what name others call you that matters, but what name you respond to that truly determines who you are."
"Being a female is a matter of birth...being a woman is a matter of age...but being a lady is a matter of choice."
"Everything is ok in the end, if its not, then its not the end."
"Often the test of courage is not to die but to live."

"You can't fall off the floor."
"Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional."
lol, that's a LOT, like i said! ^_^
most people don't get my favourite wuotes, but they express my outlook perfectly
"sometimes i think that the world is run by "C" students"
"in the real world, unlike in shakespeares world, the taste of a rose matters entirely upon the name, for soemthing is not only what it is, but more importantly, what it seems to be"
"often, it seems a pity that Noah and his party did not miss the boat."
"democracy is a device which ensures that we are governed no better than we deserve"
"you can never underestimate the stupidity of the general public"
"the one thing you can every be truely certain of, is an total lack of true certainty." - me
My favi quote:
"Lets plug it in. It's gonna say 'hey, i see a new device', it's gonna load an appropriate driver. You'll notice that this scaner.... WOAH!!!"
Hehehehe, I can bet you all know who said that :D.
Here are some more that I've said before...
Some people say that they seek the truth. But what is this truth that they desire so badly? No one will deny that we live, and that is truth. Yet people will still argue over why and how. In the end there is only life, and everything else is left to interpretation. And that is the only truth.
Science can prove anything, but that doesn’t make it true.
There are three things you can never escape in life: Food, sex and advertising.
The devil’s in the details. That’s why I do all that I can to neglect them. (I think I might have heard that from somewhere before, I'm not sure...
And here are a few random quotes that peope I know have said...
Life is hard, so are biscuits.
(Actually, I really like this. Somebody said this as a joke, but it's actually a good way to think of things. Biscuits are hard, but you don't complain about that do you? Why? Because biscuits are still great! It's the same with life. Sure some parts are bad, but they are WAY outnumbered by the good things about it)
For some reason this is my favorite quote:
|The only way to predict the future it to invent it
I don't want to achieve immortality through my work; I want to achieve immortality through not dying.
I don't want to live on in the hearts of my countrymen; I want to live on in my apartment.
"ill be back"
"suprised to see me, mr.anderson???"
"I work in mysterious ways [snaps some girl's neck] and also some fairly straightforward ones."
I don't know why, but I think that's just a great one-liner.
And here's one I once heard from a friend of mine, claims he came up with it:
"The universe is a joke and we are but its punchline."
Marvellous, if you ask me.
i dont know what are qoutes, basing in what you post i conclude some examples:
vt is worth one bird in hand than one hundred flying""
do not leave for tomorrow something you can do it today
i traduct it directly from my lenguage so i dont know if its well written and understable.......
"To know is to know that you know what you know and to know that you do not know what you do not know."
Love is like a lump of gold, hard to find and hard to hold.
I suppose I have two quotes that I like that are more contemporary than I usually go:
"The only thing we have to fear is, fear itself" -FDR
"Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country" -JFK
Most of the quotes I usually read are from more ancient times, and are just interesting due to their context.
The quote I personally like is,
"Do not leave till tomorrow, what you can do today"
Vanity, everything is vanity.
Crap movie (Super Mario Bros), but good quote:
Nothing is impossible, improbable maybe, but never impossible
My quote's childish, stupid, and somewhat true.
"Parents spend the first few years of our lives teaching us how to walk and talk, they spend the rest telling us to sit down and shut up."
I always crack up when I hear this one.
I once saw a gag poster mocking those infamous 'Success' posters.
I think this one was also titles 'Success'. The picture depicted a college kid staring at a report that has a big 'C-' written on it and the guy looked like he couldn't be more happy with himself.
The caption at the bottom of the poster read, "It pays to get A's but C's get degrees" lol
Just a little thing to lighten my mood every time I get a B or a C on one of my assignments.
Whatever the mind of a man can conceive, the hands of a man can achieve.
this is my all time favorite!!!
if not now, when? if not me, who?
Love the heart that hurts you but never hurt the heart that loves you.
