Isn't this cool?

Well not cool actually but some people may find this interesting.
Usually you would expect a search engine to place their services first in results but look @ this:
http://www.google.com/search?q=groups

It lists them automatically by number of hits. Apparently, Yahoo gets more. I don't think google would do anything abuot it even if they knew about it.

Google is very strict on its rule that they will not interfere in search results

They use a complicated formula based on different factors (like how many webpages link to this webpage?) to calculate which website is the most popular. The most popular site will get a high pagerank, and a high pagerank automatically leads to a higher place on the search results list.

To change this rule when it comes to their own websites would undermine the integrity and trustworthiness of google. So it's not that big of a surpise actually Rolling Eyes

If Yahoo! Groups has more hits than Google Groups, then why is Google's Groups a place higher than Yahoo! Groups on MSN search ?
