Dropdown menu won't work

I made a dropdown menu using Deluxe Menu
http://deluxe-menu.com/samples/javascript-dropdown-menus.html and the menu looks good in the preview, but when I place it on my website (exactly the way they explain) all that appears is:

<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2" src="menudir/data.js"></script>

Does anyone know how to use the script (or another simple one) and will you help me please Angel
