It is all happening not far from where I live in Australia. We have a guy claiming to be Jesus and his wife is Mary and he is getting quite a following.

Now this is where the facepalming comes in.

The guy himself may have a messiah complex... but I think his followers should also be examined for mental illness and get the treatment they need.

every christian should realize that they need to be born again, and be transformed to be a duplication of Christ.

Isn't this very similar to already existing religions? Or does the fact that they choose to believe him make them insane compared to having their faith passed on from their parents?
nickfyoung
That is a good point. Many people follow a particular religion because their parents do just as many vote in politics the same way as their parents. However, born again Christianity is a little different. Sure you can encourage your kids to be part of it while they are growing up but they can't actually be a born again Christian until they decide to get personal and up front with God. It is not something your parents can put on you. It is a decision you have to come to on your own.

You have to consider, however, that the large majority of people who call themselves "Christian" are in fact just using it for the title. There are more schools and community organizations that will gladly accept a "Good Christian Man" or a "Good Christian Woman" than someone who is less spiritual or identifies with another religion. Christians have had the habit in the past of discriminating against those with different beliefs, and the same goes for any other large religious sect. Tolerance is not easy to come by in society today- it's a sad truth :/

Agreed. I hope that one day soon it will be against the law to have a category like that in any questionnaire. I.e. question with regard to religion should be completely nixed everywhere. Including questions regarding race, sex and age unless they are directly relevant to the job that is being applied for, or the registration for joining/taking X,Y.Z organisation/school/university or course. Someone who is 13 years old and who qualifies for taking a course should be allowed to enroll. Regardless of their age. I'd say if we could get rid of these taboos in society it would already be great progress in having a more tolerant society.

As the bible says, many will say that are the son of God, that is here or there, but don't believe him!!

When Jesus comeback for second time, every eye will see Him, coming into the clouds.

Will be a world wide event and those who has truly believed in Him, will we transformed in the blink of an eye and be carried to Him in the air.

Obviously he is an impostor. But how is he different than other impostors like Mohammad, Jesus etc?

Just Crazy - although some IT person claiming to be Jesus is just as bad as other "alternative" religions that have a leader that claims to be enlightened - or claims to be a prophet - or claims to be "chosen" - it is all basically the same - a deluded self appointed guru that has a god or messiah complex, and the insane followers that believe him and worship him.

Having spoken and worked with people in these types of cults before I can tell you their logic is convoluted at best, and confusing and their arguments circular - everything you ask, or speak about gets turned back on you - your lack of faith, your doubts, your unenlightened mind are all the reasons why you do not believe - so there is something wrong with you, and everything right with them!

As long as man has existed there have been people that will claim to be something they are not, and people that will believe them and follow them to the death and kill anyone that doubts their word!

If everything that has been written about god was not filled with lies, and contradicting logic, and if the leaders were not found to be ego maniacal, psychopathic, self serving liars, then there might be something to believe in - since these things are constantly true it leaves one to wonder if there is any truth to any of it!

Obviously these people that claim this stuff don't believe in god, or the rules set forth - because if they did they wouldn't act the way they do, or claim the things that they do - As much as Christianity claims to be a true religion of god, it's past would oppose that - any religion that puts no believers to death or tortures them until they believe is worse than non believers.

Religion might be OK, but the main dictates are to give followers a sense of superiority over others and insight a mob mentality that allows them to take life in the name of their god, these actions leave me totally dumbfounded and as such I refuse to believe any of it!

Life is more precious than any belief system!!
