I ve some tips for your problem

if your computer display does not work means screen is blank
1.Check your ram.. Just remove it and reconnect..
2.Also check your display adapter is connected correctly if you have a
off board display card viz pci card

if your computer regularly display a message of press F1 to continue then you must
3.Check your cmos battery

if your computer is not starting then please check
4.Check your power cables

if you have the messages like boot disk failure then
5.You must check your hard disk power cable and also data cable

Also check your power supply is not overloaded

I would request that you move "Check power cables" to #1. I don't know how many times I've been called out to someone's house just to end up plugging in their system. And then they get mad 'cause it costs them $100...
