That should be a great choice. I can't exactly give you a review since I use an iBook, but I'm very happy with the iBook so the PowerBook should be great. 
and is it true that programs run faster on mac than on win?

It depends on what your willing to spend. The 17 in. is a better machine, but the 15 in. is still very good. About the speed: My iBook is pretty fast. I play games on it such as Halo and Descent 2 and Jedi Academy and Galactic Battlegrounds among others.
i would wait till the switch to intel... one of the reasons apple switched was because of a weak(ish) powerpc offering in the notebook sector.
Yeah, that's a thought to. The PowerBooks should greatly improve with Intels. But that's next year...

As far as I know, mac computers are recommended for designing stuffs. Alot of designing colleges i know uses mac computers to teach their students.
i`m interested in gaming on powerpc, but games in Croatia is too expensive, is there some pirat games?
powerbooks are fantastic - get one!!!
I game on my Mac. You can download plenty of demos from http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ Look around on the 'Net and you might find games for cheap prices.
