Moscow (CNSNews.com) - Russian media are hailing an intercontinental ballistic missile test, calling it a successful demonstration of the military's capability to pierce the U.S. anti-missile defense shield.
The Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missile has unique capabilities, making it virtually invulnerable, Russia's leading television broadcaster, Channel 1, commented Wednesday.
Trud, a pro-government daily, said the American anti-missile defense umbrella was no longer a problem for Russia because the test-launch demonstrated that the newest warhead could overcome it. |
Oh, my. I see another cold war in the near future. Or the levelling of a certain country which seems hell bent on attacking the US. 
Russia also has at least 80-100 Onyx missles in Cuba and South America. There is another missle much the same that they have. These missles are anti-shipping missles. They travel at mach 2 and have a mass that is heavey enough to penetrate completely through a standard shipping vessel and leave a large hole. Even if it is a dud and does not explode.
All this within 100 miles of our most vital oil loading stations and shipping access. These things move too fast to be shot down. And they are almost impossible to detect.
Scary stuff.
there are two ways to look at this, i think.
1. You make a defense shield and it's only inevitable that someone will make something that can go around it. So not surprising at all to me. The whole missile defense shield is kind of a ludicrous idea to begin with... given what I just said about inevitable obsolescence.
2. even if you were able to make a defense shield that was pretty darn good... all it takes is one missile to get past it. how many missiles are we willing to accept? there has to be another way, I'd hope!

True, but it is important to defend against something that could be a problem, like these missiles that russia has. But, then again, Russia is our ally, so it doesnt make much sense to defend against an ally.

It's harder to imagine him not following them. His tongue has been surgically attached to Bush's behind for such a long time that it must be second nature by now.

This could be a problem. Any situation could turn to a problem. I remember, back in the day, when we were 'helping' places like Iraq, Afghan, etc. Look what happened after WWII with Russia. We were allies with them.
I guess I can't blame them for wanting to have an 'upper hand' of sorts.

Why are we still concerned about Russia? I thought that all they did these days was spawn Mafioso wanna be types, and buy English Football Clubs. Surely if they develop a missile that could penetrate US missile defences, they'd use it to fly a large amount of H3roine over here to the U.S. branch of the Russian Mafia

Well india and russia jointly developed a brahmos missile ,
which no one in the world has , for even usa it will take 10 years to get such a missile ,
bra=brahma mos = moscow
india is now working on puting this brahmos missile technology in it surface to air and air to air missile
currently brahmos only works in water ,with submarines ,
as far as the next big War is concerned , the outcome will depend on india ,
whos side india will be , they will win ,
if u look around , the real country which can help the americans in asia is india , even thier pet dog pakistan cannot help them so much as india ,
but if india ,china and russia are together , then there is no one in the world ,who could defeat these countries , 
I just wonder will the cold war ever really die? US and Russia seem to never quit trying to outdo each other with weaponry. And if you ever read books by retired army colonel Tom Beardon he believes the Russians possess a scalar weapons technology based on Tesla's machine to end all war. And if its true then missiles and missile shields are just a smokescreen for the real fireworks goin on behind closed doors.
Pah, most of the rumours surrounding Russia these days are all myths and misinformation. Russia is a crippled country after the demise of the USSR. The only people that are still concerned about Russia are those that loved the paranoia of the Cold War, and that feel left out of place without having something to worry about.
Now if all you're looking for is a country to feel paranoid about, you should be more concerned about North Korea....
Now there's an unstable country lead by a complete nutcase with a lot of WOMD, and does Bush do anything about this guy? Hell no - because he's a REAL threat.
I think there shouldn't be one country that's superior over all the other, and the US is becoming such a country. When the US has total milatary supremacy, they don't have to bother about what the do anymore. Just like the war on Iraq, the leave the UN standing, whatever the want to do.
Just because russia has something big up thier sleeve......doesnt mean the US is in trouble.
The US will probably have something bigger and better than Russia.....and i bet they will tell no one about it, until there is a huge threat...eg north korea, india or russia decide to use thier weapons on US land. I dont think russia or india would even think of attacking the US, because the US does alot for their crippled economies, North Korea however... I hope the US have a plan to stop them.
Although, the main problem at the moment is the new "Terrorist" fad. Everyone thinks its cool to be a terrorist, because western culture is so unholy and demoralizing. So.. why not just blow it up! I mean... thats a good way to stay holy.. Good job religious extremists! Then again... you have to see things from thier point of view... i mean, they probably arent horrible people. They just see things differently.
The main problem with terrorists is, you can never find the people to kill or caputre, cause its not the government attacking, its different groups from different countries. Kinda difficult to stop them all.
